QUEBEC (Ticker) -- Mathieu Garon made 37 saves and Miloslav Guren scored a shorthanded goal and set up another, leading the surging Quebec Citadelles to a 3-1 victory over the Saint John Flames. Garon turned aside all 28 shots he faced over the first two periods, helping Quebec to its third straight win and seventh in eight games. Guren set up Jason Ward's shorthanded tally 5:32 into the first period before scoring one of his own early in the third. In between, Arron Asham had a power-play marker for the Citadelles. Garon lost his shutout bid with 12:29 remaining on Lee Jinman's first goal of the season. Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 24 shots for Saint John, which fell to 1-4-1 in the last six games.
