SAINT JOHN, New Brunswick (Ticker) -- Vladimir Orszagh and Chris
Schmidt scored twenty seconds apart late in the third period to
lead the Lowell Lock Monsters over the Saint John Flames, 3-2,
in their first round playoff game. Orszagh broke a 1-1 tie with
64 seconds remaining in the third period and Schmidt followed
with the eventual game-winner 20 seconds later. Ronald
Petrovicky scored for Saint John with 15 seconds left in the
contest to round out the scoring. Robert Luongo made 39 saves
to pick up the win, giving the Lock Monsters a 2-0 series lead.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere saved 22 shots in a losing cause for
Saint John.
