KALAMAZOO, Michigan (Ticker) -- Mike Bales registered 33 saves and the Michigan K-Wings handed the Detroit Vipers their 11th consecutive loss, 2-1. Bales secured his ninth win of the season by stopping all 11 shots he faced in the third period. Kelly Fairchild, who leads the team with 62 points, and Greg Leeb each scored for Michigan, which has won three games in a row against Detroit. Dale Rominski tied the score at 1-1 just one minute into the second frame for the Vipers, who outshot the K-Wings, 34-26. Kevin Hodson collected 24 saves for Detroit, which fell to 9-26-5 on the road.
