NASHVILLE -- ESPN's Jayson Stark reported the winter meetings had their first two trades Sunday afternoon.
Diamondbacks first baseman Erubiel Durazo was sent to Oakland in a four-team trade that also involved the Reds and Blue Jays. In the other major trade so far, the Phillies sent Jeremy Giambi to the Red Sox for right-handed minor league pitcher Josh Hancock. Durazo, who had been rumored to be traded all offseason, was sent to the A's, who sent prospects Jason Arnold and John-Ford Griffin to the Blue Jays. Toronto shipped Felipe Lopez to the Reds, while Cincinnati traded Elmer Dessens to Arizona. Jayson Stark is a senior writer for ESPN.com. |
