Defensive holes on eliminated playoff teams

A lot can change in a month of baseball. After watching Jacob deGrom, Matt Harvey, and Noah Syndergaard mow down the Mets' NLDS and NLCS opponents, it's hard to believe they ever weren't the favorites. As excellent a young core as the team has put together, recent history -- including this season -- suggests that the favorite does not always come out on top in the MLB postseason. With a well-timed hot streak next year, any playoff team could become the 2016 version of this year's Mets. The key is reaching the postseason to give yourself that opportunity.
