BOSTON -- Fred Lynn, Jim Lonborg and former chief executive officer John Harrington were among seven people inducted Thursday into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame.
Pitchers Tex Hughson, Boo Ferriss and Lonborg, outfielders Duffy Lewis and Lynn, shortstop Rick Burleson and Harrington joined 21 others inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995, 1997 and 2000.
Inductees are chosen every two years by a 15-member committee. Eligible candidates must have spent at least three years with the Red Sox.
Harrington was with the Red Sox until last February when the Yawkey Trust, which he headed, sold the team to a group led by John Henry.
Lonborg won the Cy Young Award in 1967 when he went 22-9 as the Red Sox played in the World Series. Lynn was the AL's Rookie of the Year and MVP in 1975, and Burleson also was on that team that went to the World Series.
Lewis was part of three championship teams during his time with the Red Sox from 1910 to 1917.
Hughson and Ferriss each won at least 20 games in 1946, when the Red Sox went to another World Series.
The team also announced Thursday that the Red Sox Foundation will receive more than $14 million from current and former partners of the team.
