TORONTO -- Mike Bordick's record streak for games without an error by a shortstop ended Wednesday night against the New York Yankees.

Bordick, making his first start for the Toronto Blue Jays, allowed Bubba Trammell's grounder to tip off his glove for an error in the third inning.

Bordick finished last season with 110 consecutive games without an error and 543 straight chances, both big league records for a shortstop.

He converted a fielder's choice in the first inning, then misplayed his second chance of the game -- ending his run at 544 chances without an error.

Bordick is in his 14th major league season. He spent his first seven years in Oakland, five full seasons with Baltimore and split the 2000 season between the Orioles and New York Mets.

He is expected to be used mostly as a backup to Chris Woodward by the Blue Jays this season.
