Millwood won't throw for 6-8 weeks

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Kevin Millwood is out indefinitely because of a sprained ligament and a strained tendon in his pitching elbow.

Millwood, who was placed on the disabled list last week, won't
throw for at least three or four weeks. An ultrasound on Millwood's
elbow Tuesday showed no gaping in the joint, but it's uncertain if
he'll return this season.

Millwood, in his second season with the Phillies, is 9-6 with a
4.86 ERA. He's pitching on a one-year, $11 million contract after
turning down a three-year offer worth about $30 million last

Also, left-hander Eric Milton received an injection in the base
of the pinkie finger on his right hand, but won't miss a start.
