Center fielder marries for second time

BOSTON -- Johnny Damon married girlfriend Michelle Mangan in Florida at a wedding attended by stars of the sports, television and music worlds.

It was the second marriage for the 31-year-old Red Sox center fielder, whose 5-year-old twins -- Madelyn and Jackson -- served as flower girl and ring bearer.

"Michelle's a great girl, and it's time I started settling down," Damon told The Boston Globe. "She's had a huge influence on me. She lets me be me. She's amazing."

Teammates Doug Mientkiewicz, Mike Timlin, Kevin Millar, Bronson Arroyo and Kevin Youkilis were among the 175 guests at a hotel in Orlando on Thursday. AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson and celebrity chef Todd English also attended. The reception capped three days of events, including a private comedy show for guests.

Damon, who coined the nickname "idiots" for the 2004 World Series champions, sported his trademark long hair and was dressed in a tux and silver tie. He walked down the aisle to "Brand New Man" by Brooks & Dunn.
