NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees claimed right-hander
Darrell Rasner off waivers from the Washington Nationals on
Saturday.
Rasner was 0-1 with a 3.68 ERA in five appearances, including
one start, for the Nationals after being called up from the minors
on Sept. 6. He was 6-7 with a 3.59 ERA in 27 games for Double-A
Harrisburg.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated
right-hander Jason Anderson for assignment. Anderson was 1-0 with a
7.94 ERA in three appearances for the Yankees last year, after
going 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA in 55 games for Triple-A Columbus.
