CHICAGO -- Cleveland Indians starter C.C. Sabathia left Sunday
night's game against the Chicago White Sox with a strained right
abdominal muscle in the third inning.
Sabathia was injured on his follow-through as Tadahito Iguchi
delivered an RBI single that increased Chicago's lead to 2-0.
Indians manager Eric Wedge and a trainer came out to the mound, and,
after a few warmup tosses, Sabathia left the game. He will be
examined Monday in Chicago.
The left-hander began last season on the 15-day disabled list
with a strained right oblique muscle before finishing with a 15-10
record and 4.03 ERA.
He will be re-examined Monday.
