Strained hamstring lands Braves' Ramirez on DL

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Atlanta Braves on Thursday placed left-hander Horacio Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.

Ramirez suffered the injury while running to first base in the third inning of Atlanta's 9-8 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

A four-year veteran, Ramirez is 25-17 with a 4.14 ERA in 73 career appearances, including 71 starts. He went 11-9 last season with a 4.63 ERA.

In corresponding moves, the Braves optioned right-hander Blaine Boyer to Triple-A Richmond, recalled righthander Joey Devine and purchased the contract of righthander Kenny Ray from Richmond.
