Nats add catcher Flores to 15-day DL

WASHINGTON -- The Washington Nationals have put starting catcher Jesus Flores on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised right shoulder and designated reliever Logan Kensing for assignment.

To take their spots on the active roster, Washington also has selected the contract of reliever Jesus Colome and recalled catcher Josh Bard from Triple-A Syracuse before Friday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Flores is still sore and having trouble throwing and swinging after being hit on the shoulder by a foul ball during Saturday's game at Arizona. The move is retroactive to Sunday.

Manager Manny Acta says the Nationals did not want to be carrying only one healthy catcher into Saturday's doubleheader against Philadelphia.
