MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers have reinstated right fielder Corey Hart from the 15-day disabled list and recalled third baseman Mat Gamel from Triple-A Nashville before Tuesday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Hart, batting .264 with 11 homers in 98 games, had been out since undergoing an emergency appendectomy Aug. 2 in San Diego. In four games at Nashville, he went 5 for 10 with one homer and three RBIs.
Brewers manager Ken Macha said Hart would play Wednesday afternoon against the Cardinals.
Gamel spent May 14-July 19 with the Brewers, batting .239 with four home runs and 16 RBIs in 48 games, including 23 starts at third and six as the DH. With Nashville, he batted .287 with 11 home runs and 48 RBIs in 75 games.
