CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Indians center fielder Grady Sizemore underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia, his second operation in a week.
Sizemore, who is out for the season, had arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow last week.
The team said Sizemore's lower abdomen was repaired in a 20-minute procedure in Philadelphia by Dr. Bill Meyers.
Sizemore played with pain in his elbow all season before the Indians finally shut him down earlier this month. He injured his abdomen during a drill in spring training.
The three-time All-Star, who was on the disabled list from May 31-June 23, finished batting .248 with 18 homers, 64 RBIs and 13 steals in 106 games.
The Indians expect Sizemore to be fully recovered by spring training in February.
