That's how you spell it, and get to know it too, because he's gonna be a regular in your articles for quite a few years to come. It's nice to see the Power Alley finally give the Twins some respect, still a little low, but you'll figure it out soon enough. The Twinkies are here to stay, and I think it's great for Minnesota and for baseball.

Steve Exsted
Bemidji, Minn.

I admit, the Tigers don't give me much hope for a fantastic season, and yes, they are below .500, but come on! How many times do they have to beat the White Sox to be ranked above them?

Andrew Kraemer
Portland, Ore.

“ Worse than C.J. Nitkowski? Two words: Christian Parker! ”
—  Tom D'Ambrosio, Sayville, N.Y.

While wanting to know if the Twins are serious contenders or not all I keep reading is: "Wait 'til about 40 games into the season. If the Twins are still playing .600 ball, they've got a chance." Well you know what? I don't want to wait until 40 games. I want the season to end now!

Aaron Johnson
St. Paul, Minn.

Yes, the Blue Jays are surprisingly good so far. However, I don't understand how the Red Sox aren't No. 1. They are 10-4 and have given up 28 runs in 14 games. And oh yeah, did I forget to mention that they are 3-1 vs. the World Champion Yankees! C'mon on. Gotta give it up for the Sox.

Scott Masterson
Medway, Mass.

Can you do us Braves fans a big favor and put them in a spot well below No. 6? They don't belong there at this point. Drop them to around 15th or so. It might be the only way to convince the Time Warner boys that another big bat is definitely in order.

Steve Ryan
Miramar, Fla.

Glad to see my Phils getting their due. Of course, that means I can't complain when they're getting their due in August ... at No. 27.

Rob Weiss
Alexandria, Va.

Oh come on! The Reds have won five straight, three of them against the defending NL champions, the Mets, and the best they can do is move up four lowsy spots from 24 to 20. Their pitching is coming on strong from both their starters and their bullpen. And their hitting, which probably lacks in a few offensive categories, is getting the job done, are they not? It would be nice to see them at least to No. 15.

Brad Riegert
Cincinnati

“ Is it possible for a split ranking? Mets pitching ... good for 4th. Mets hitting ... what's the lowest number we can give again? ”
—  Matthew Regan, New York

Wasn't it only two weeks ago that the A's were No. 1? If you guys were so sure that they were good, isn't it a little bit cowardly to drop them so far so fast?

Martyn Willsher
College Station, Texas

C.J. Nitkowski might be terrible, but he is not in the ground dwelling class that Rich Rodriguez is in. All Met fans would agree with that.

Billy Bahnsen
Patchogue, N.Y.

The Giants have struggled with their pitching thus far, wait until "Head Case" Estes gets it together. And yes, Rich Aurilia is the most productive shortstop in the NL. Maybe he won't get the All-Star snub again this year.

Brad Green
San Francisco

Come on guys, the Orioles aren't really as bad as you're making them out to be. Not much was expected from this team at all, but they're playing well above their potential (which I know is minimal to begin with). I say they do deserve some credit as they are 6-7 despite having the worst lineup in the league.

Reid Hatton
State College, Pa.
