Is there a number above one? The M's are playing lights out and while everyone has been waiting for them to cool off, they have opened up a ridiculous lead over the rest of the league. Good starting pitching, great bullpen work, excellent defense, and timely hitting have put them way over the top of everyone else in the majors.

David Bank
Dayton, Ohio

Please rank the Royals last. PLEASE! That is the only way that people will see how horrible Sergeant Muser is!!

Matthew Campbell
Kansas City

What more do the Cubs have to do to crack the top five? They have the best ERA in the NL. They won 12 in a row for the first time since 1936. They are leading their division. They have the fifth-best record in baseball, better than St. Louis, Boston, and the Yankees. And, they have Sammy Sosa.

Kevin Sobiski
Indianapolis

“ The M's have scored 116 more runs than they've given up. Nuff said! ”
—  Karl McLaughlin, Anchorage, Alaska

You made a mistake, you should have said top six of Vina, Drew, McGwire, Edmonds, Lankford and Pujols can't be matched by any other club. Lankford does after all rank 18th in the NL in OPS at .958

Who is the rocket scientist who ranked the Cardinals over the Cubs? What have the Cards proved over the past two weeks, ummmm, oh, that they aren't as good as the Cubs!

Todd R. Southwell
Chicago

Wow, you finally have to admit the O's aren't terrible. After routing the Yankees and Mike Mussina, their confidence is sky-high. I predict another move up the chart next week!

Will Becker
Philadelphia

"Barry Bonds, get a single already." In addition to an extraordinary .478 OBP and a godlike .913 SLG, Barry has a more than respectable .314 BA. Rico, shut up already.

Tom Matassa
Mississauga, Ind.

“ All Aboard! The Mariners Express is pulling out of the Station. Any and everybody is welcome. ”
—  Cody Lerum, Helena, Mt.

Finally, you give the O's some respect. On your list of young talents, you forgot Jerry Hairston, Chris Richard, and Sidney Ponson. This team has a promising future, indeed.

Premal S. Shah
Pasadena, Calif.

Here in the Bay Area there are Giants fans all over with this illusion before them that the Giants are good. Thank you for voicing what I've been trying to tell them. The Giants do suck! Go Padres! Please let them finish above the Giants.

Ferdi Hachfeld
San Jose, Calif.
