How in the world can you have the Angels ranked ahead of the Marlins? The Angels are lucky to be hovering around .500 while the Marlins are surging. Is this a Rally Monkey thing?
Matt Caporale Charlotte, N.C. I wonder if there is any way the league could let Pittsburgh play all their games at home (14-15) because the road hasn't been treating us so well (10-28). I mean we could almost be "average" if we played at home all the time. Justin Hunter Buckhannon, W. Va. The Phillies are lucky you didn't give them honorary last place after getting swept by the dreadful Devil Rays. Mary Brick Centreville, Pa.
Jonathan Seibald Larchmont, N.Y. Mariners fans stuffing ballot boxes? Please. Last time I checked, every Mariner leading the fan balloting (Olerud, Edgar, Boone, Ichiro) deserved to be starting in the All-Star Game. That's more than you can say for Cal Ripken. Mike Rose Kennewick, Wash.
Gimme a break. The Pirates swept the Indians over the weekend and still didn't move up in the rankings. Meanwhile, the Reds were mired in an eight-game losing streak before winning a game on Wednesday, and they're ranked above the Bucs. After Tuesday's games (Pirates beat Phils, Reds lose to Brewers), the two were tied in the standings. This may have been the only week this season that the Pirates could've escaped from the second-to-last spot, and you guys blew it.
Mike Thomas Pittsburgh Although so far the team's are performing equivalently, on principal, you should place the Orioles, a team wildly exceeding everyone's expectations, above the Athletics, a team wildly failing to do just that. David Campbell New York M's fans may be stuffing the ballot box. But I'd like to think that fans everywhere are voting with their heads (except for the Cal Ripken votes.) The four Mariners leading at their positions deserve to go to the All-Star Game. Bob Holland Bremerton, Wash. |
