Set an all-time NL record by recording an extra-base hit in six consecutive at-bats (2-doubles, 3-triples, 1-HR) in games vs Pittsburgh on May 21 and 22 ... Named Player of the Week for the period ending May 26th ... Placed on the DL and expected to miss two months due to a broken collarbone suffered when he ran into the centerfield wall chasing a fly ball on June 10 at Atlanta ... Activated off DL on Aug. 14 ... Played in only 83 games due to injuries.

1995
Established a career high and ranked tied for second in the National League with 36 home runs ... He also set a personal best and ranked seventh with 101 RBI ... Finished second in the NL in extra-base hits (72), slugging percentage (.607), total bases (300) and tied for second in hit by pitches (14), which also established a club record.

Reached totals of 22 home runs and 29 steals despite being slowed by several injuries (hamstring, ribs, foot) ... His 20-20 season was the first-ever in the major leagues by a Canadian-born player and the first by a Montreal player not named Andre Dawson ... Won his first Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards, played in his first All-Star Game, secured spots on post-season all-star teams selected by AP and The Sporting News, and finished fifth in the NL MVP voting ... Led NL right fielders with 16 assists, second among all league outfielders ... Threw out two runners at first base on apparent singles, Tony Fernandez of San Diego July 4 and Tim Wakefield of Pittsburgh Sept. 24 ... Led all NL right fielders with 23 home runs and 93 RBI.

Avoided the 'sophomore jinx' with a solid year ... Was an offensive terror in the second half, batting .338 with 21 doubles, 10 homers, 34 runs and 41 RBI in 72 games after the All-Star break ... His second-half-average was the best in the NL ... Replaced injured Andres Galarraga at first base during the middle of the year, starting 39 games and compiling a .988 fielding percentage ... Tied a major league record with two outfield assists in one inning, April 26 against St. Louis.

Had a fine rookie season, equalling Andre Dawson's club rookie record of 19 home runs ... Homered in consecutive games twice, June 29 and 30 against Atlanta and July 6 and 7 against Houston ... Tied for second among NL right fielders with 12 assists ... Started 113 games in right field ... His 19 homers ranked second among NL rookies, behind only Atlanta's David Justice.

Collected his first hit (off Mike LaCoss), scored two runs and drew three walks in his major league debut, Aug. 16 against San Francisco ... Managed only one hit in his final 20 at-bats.

Spent the entire season on the disabled list due to a serious knee injury he suffered while playing in Mexico during the winter.
