Started at four different positions for the Kansas City Royals, led by his 80 starts at first base ... Coming into the year, had never started at any position other than shortstop ... Drove in 62 runs, the highest total by a Dodger shortstop since Bill Russell set the L.A. record for the position with 65 in 1974 ... Led all major league players with 25 sacrifice bunts (teammates Jody Reed and Brett Butler finished second and third in the NL) ... Made significant improvements over his rookie year in most offensive categories ... His 37 errors were the most by any NL shortstop but an improvement from his total of 42 in 1992 ... With his 30 stolen bases, he joined Brett Butler (39) and Eric Davis (33) as part of the first Dodger trio to swipe at least 30 bases each since 1903.

1992
Took over Los Angeles' starting job at shortstop, replacing veteran Alfredo Griffin ... Led all major league shortstops with 42 errors, the most by a Dodger at that position since Pee Wee Reese tallied 47 in 1941 ... Struggled early, hitting .216 in April, but recovered to bat .267 the rest of the season.

1991
Had two stints with the Dodgers, the first in May and the second in August and September ... Made 37 starts at shortstop and reached base safely in 20 of his last 24 starts.

1990
Homered in his first major league at-bat off Montreal's Dennis Martinez Aug. 19 ... Was the first L.A. Dodger, the fifth player in franchise history, and the 55th player in major league history to perform the feat ... Finished his debut 3-for-5 with the home run, an RBI, and a stolen base ... Went on to hit only two more home runs in his next 1,294 major league at-bats, through the end of 1993 ... Named The Sporting News Minor League Player of the Year for his performance at Albuquerque (AAA).

1986
Signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent to a minor-league contract on July 24, 1986.
