Tied Gary Lavelle (1974-84) for the Giants' franchise all-time lead with his 127th save on Sept. 29 at Colorado in his final appearance of the season ... Ranked third in the NL with 33 saves, trailing only Chicago's Randy Myers (38) and St. Louis' Tom Henke (36) ... Finished in a tie for the seventh in the NL Rolaids Relief Man competition after winning the 1994 Rolaids Championship ... Beck has registered 109 saves over the last 3 years ... That total trails only Lee Smith (113) and Myers (112) in that period ... Led the Giants in saves for the fourth straight year, becoming only the fifth Giant pitcher to accomplish that feat ... His .767 save pct. in 1995 was the second worst in the NL, with only Houston's Todd Jones posting a lower success rate (.750) ... Allowed just one earned run in 28.1 innings pitched over his last 22 appearances ... Pitched his way onto his first opening day roster with a 2.70 ERA in ten spring training appearances ... Did not allow a run in 17 innings over eight outings during April ... Retired 26 straight batters over five games from May 5-16 before allowing a check-swing infield single to the Cubs' Andre Dawson ... Yielded an earned run in just one of his first 17 appearances, posting a 1.39 ERA and stranding 12 of 14 runners during that span ... Pitched in relief for Phoenix upon his return there ... Allowed just five earned runs in 32-2/3 innings pitched (1.38) after returning to Phoenix ... Earned saves in his last three games before being recalled by the Giants at the All-Star break ... Earned his first major league save on Sept. 16 versus the first-place Braves ... Notched first major- league victory on Sept. 24 in Houston ... Singled off John Smoltz in his first major league at-bat (Aug. 3 at Atlanta) ... Was 1-0 with a 2.98 ERA in 26 games for the Giants after his second recall ...
