Career Notes 1997 Established new Oakland record with 25-game hitting streak from May 12-June 23. 1996 Drove in a career-high five RBIs, all coming from the result of his two HRs, on June 25 vs. Detroit ... Tied a club record and set a career-high by recording five hits in five at-bats on July 2 at Seattle ... Started at least 30 games at three different positions and started at five different spots overall ... Established Oakland record with 40 doubles ... Hit safely in 19 straight games during Apr., batting .344 for the month ... Included in the streak was an 8-for-8 span ... Earned AL Player of the Week honors for May 6-12, batting .538 with five doubles and eight runs ... Was batting .323 at the All-Star break before stumbling to a .245 mark after the break. 1995 Began the year at Edmonton but was recalled to Oakland on May 8 when Bordick was injured ... Optioned back to Edmonton May 15 when rosters were cut back to 25 ... While at Edmonton, he hit .342 with 26 doubles and 41 RBI in 55 games as the Trappers third baseman ... Came back to Oakland for good on July 7 ... Injuries limited his playing time over the final six weeks of the season, missing five games with a strained hamstring, seven games with a mild concussion suffered August 26 in Boston and the final eight games with a sore right rib cage.
