Jayson Stark has been covering the ongoing video game saga/battles between ex-Phillies teammates Curt Schilling and Doug Glanville. Recently, the two participated in an online game of EverQuest. However, both had different stories as to who the winner was, so Jayson asked if any users in the audience witnessed the events. Here are the best responses:
I saw this epic encounter and here is what REALLY happened. Glanville's elf and Schilling's Voxslayer were locked up in battle, neither one yielding to the other. Suddenly, Dmitri Young and Wendell Magee came bouncing/dancing in, crushing both combatants into little pink mounds of goo. A memorabilia hound came by and, mistaking them for pieces of gum, put them up for bid on eBay, where they sold for $2.74 plus $1.55 shipping. Apparently there was some question as to their authenticity. Very sad scene really.

HAHAHAHA ... I have no idea who won but I just finished reading the column and I'm in tears. We need more people like Schilling and Glanville in this world, not to mention Randy Johnson joining up with Schilling so it's a fair 2-on-2 fight.

This is how it went down, Pratt and Glanville were taking Schilling to school, when Curt took out his new magic decoder ring (also known as a World Series ring) and proceded to vaporize Glanville and Pratt with a ray which came out of the center.

I look at it like this: If glanville coulda backstabbed Schilling then he must have been a thief or a ranger. If a thief, then let's believe Schilling. If a ranger, well they are the best. They can use bows, swords and get a backstab bonus plus protection from magic 'cuz he is an elf. I think clearly Glanville killed the wannabe Merlin Schilling and he was just salty. Besides, who is the more prominent major leaguer? Schilling; of course you'd believe him .... He could have an ego for pitching, rightly so, but I think my paladin would mop them all up for brunch and leave the bones for the necromancers to play with.

I think Curt's ERA and Doug's batting average are good indicators of who's winning this game. Schilling and his 2.79 ERA are definitely in the head of Glanville and his .250 batting average. Maybe it's just Schilling's master plan to completely implode the Phillies through computer gaming warfare.

Although I did not witness the online game, I can safely assume that it went much like a Phillies game of late. Schilling probably took an early lead, Glanville mounted a courageous comeback in the middle parts of the game only to see it slip painfully away when he sent in his set-up warlord, Rocky Blowalead, who just so happens to have the same initials as another set-up man who can throw bomb after bomb!! End result, once again, Phillies, uh sorry, Glanville loses!
Rusty Young
Sony won. Any company that can con two millionaires out of their dough is obviously a front company for Bill Gates. Even Ultima Online couldn't get Schilling and Glanville to buy a newbie knife on eBay.

And finally, someone who appears to have actually witnessed the game ... Schilling beat Glanville, until Pratt got involved and Glanville beat Schilling with cheap shot to the back.
