And for the second consecutive start, Clayton Kershaw surrenders a home run to the leadoff batter. This time it's DJ LeMahieu, who jumped on a hanging curveball and has far more experience against Kershaw than anybody on the Yankees' roster.

Gleyber Torres told me that MLB has not reached out to him regarding his criticism of the umpires yesterday. Torres was frustrated when his run was invalidated when time was called. Torres: "I didn't see an umpire call time. I'm a little bit surprised I had to come back to third base. I don't know what's wrong with the umpires today."

Domingo Germán will be on the mound for the Yankees this Sunday Night Baseball against the Dodgers. Germán will be sporting his nickname "Sunday", which is the translation of his first name, Domingo. Germán told me it's always been a dream of his to pitch at Dodger Stadium, and is particularly excited to do it against one of the pitchers he's always idolized, Clayton Kershaw.
