Monte Harrison agrees to contract

Nebraska football signee Monte Harrison has agreed to terms with the Milwaukee Brewers, who selected the outfielder with the 50th pick on Thursday in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft.

Harrison agreed to a contract that includes a bonus of $1.8 million, according to Jim Callis of MLB.com.

A heralded three-sport star who caught 13 touchdown passes at Lee's Summit (Missouri) West High School last fall, Harrison leaves Nebraska with a hole in its class of newcomers.

Harrison was projected before the draft as a first-round pick and considered the best athlete available.

He was rated as the No. 5 football prospect in the state of Missouri and had planned to play football and baseball in college.
