Aoki has been on the disabled list since June 24 with a small fracture in his right fibula. A recent CT scan showed the bone is 80 percent healed, Bochy said.
Aoki has enjoyed a solid first season with the Giants, hitting .317 with 33 runs scored and 19 RBIs as their leadoff hitter.
The 33-year-old left fielder strikes out less often than any player in MLB this season (5.8 percent of at-bats). He's also 11th in batting average and 12th in on-base percentage, with 12 stolen bases. No one else on the Giants has more than five steals.
San Francisco is 9-9 in Aoki's absence and trails the Los Angeles Dodgers by 3½ games in the NL West.
