Jessica Mendoza in ESPN booth for rest of Sunday night games

Jessica Mendoza will be an analyst for ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball games for the rest of the 2015 season.

Mendoza, who worked last week's Chicago Cubs-Los Angeles Dodgers game -- in which Jake Arrietta threw a no-hitter -- replaces Curt Schilling, who ESPN announced Thursday would not return for the rest of 2015.

Mendoza became the first woman to work as an analyst on a baseball game for ESPN on Aug. 24, when St. Louis played Arizona. Earlier this year, she was in the booth at the College World Series as well as the Women's College World Series.

She has worked for Baseball Tonight since the middle of the 2014 season.

Mendoza, 34, is a former All-American softball player at Stanford and U.S. Olympian.
