BALTIMORE -- The Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays are set to meet in two exhibition games in Montreal's Olympic Stadium at the end of spring training in 2016. The official announcement is scheduled to be made in a conference call Friday.
A major league source said Wednesday night that the teams will meet on Friday night, April 1, and on Saturday, April 2, after both teams break camp in Florida.
The Red Sox are scheduled to open the regular season April 4 in Cleveland; the Blue Jays are scheduled to open against the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg, Florida, then return to Rogers Centre in Toronto for their home opener April 8 against the Red Sox.
Officials from both clubs as well as Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre are scheduled to participate in Friday's conference call.
