MILWAUKEE -- Astros center fielder Carlos Gomez says he'd like to retire as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers, the team that traded him to Houston last summer.
The 30-year-old Gomez returned to Miller Park on Friday for the first time since the deal with Houston. The Astros are in town for a three-game interleague series against Milwaukee.
Gomez spent more than five seasons with the Brewers.
He said the Milwaukee organization stuck with him when he struggled earlier in his career and helped him become the player he is now.
The rebuilding Brewers traded Gomez and starter Mike Fiers to Houston for four prospects in July.
Gomez won a Gold Glove in 2013. At his best, the high-energy Gomez is a power-speed threat in the middle of a lineup.
