Devin Mesoraco heads to DL with torn labrum in left shoulder

CINCINNATI -- The Reds have put catcher Devin Mesoraco on the 15-day disabled list after an MRI detected a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

It's the second straight year he has suffered a significant injury. Mesoraco missed most of last season with a hip injury that required surgery.

The Reds have been swamped by injuries, with shortstop Zack Cozart (knee) was out of the lineup Monday and right-handers Homer Bailey and Anthony DeSclafani shut down after setbacks during minor league rehabilitation stints last week.
