Sources: O's, J.J. Hardy work on deal

The Baltimore Orioles are making progress on a new three-year deal for shortstop J.J. Hardy that would run through the 2014 season, sources told ESPN.com Friday.

The financial package that Hardy will receive is likely to fall in the range of the deal that Juan Uribe signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers last winter -- three years and $21 million -- although the value of Hardy's deal could reach $25 million.

In 62 games this season, Hardy has 13 homers and 33 RBIs and is batting .277.
