The brackets for Combate Global's eight-man, one-night Copa Combate tournament have been released, per promotion officials. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be one round apiece and the final will be three rounds of action. There will also be two reserve bouts, one featuring Bellator veteran Ricky Bandejas, and two women's fights, including the return to Lucero "Loba" Acosta.
Bellator has re-signed Keri Taylor-Melendez to a new, multi-fight contract, officials told ESPN on Monday. The California native had been a free agent. Taylor-Melendez, 37, is 5-0 in MMA with three finishes, having last fought in November 2020. She is the wife of longtime MMA lightweight great Gilbert Melendez.
Combate Global's Copa Combate -- an eight-man, one-night tournament -- will return Dec. 12 in Miami, it will be announced today. The winner earns $100,000 and the eight participants come from eight different countries. The fighters are Combate champ David Martinez of Mexico, Spain's Kevin Cordero, Leo Muniz of the United States, Ireland's Frans Mlambo, Peru's Jose Zarauz, Chile's Cristian Barraza, Argentina's Luciano Ramos and Pierre Daguzan of France.
