The sound of "Baba O'Reilly" fills the arena, signalling that it's time for the main card. First up is a featherweight bout between Martin Bravo, out of Rosarito Beach in Baja California, and American Steven Peterson.
And there it is, the first crowd-pleasing Mexican victory of the night. José Quiñónez gets a knockdown in Round 1, takes Carlos Huachin of Peru to the canvas in the other two rounds and uses slick footwork to avoid wild, desperate punches at the end to score a neat unanimous decision. All three judges score it 30-27 for the Mexican.
Next up, a bantamweight bout between José Quiñónez, a Mexican now fighting out of San Diego, and Peruvian finisher Carlos Huachin, who was not gone the distance in any of his 10 wins.
