The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has granted former UFC fighter Francisco Rivera back his license to fight. The vote was 5-0. Rivera is currently serving a four-year USADA suspension, which won't be up until August 2020. He has been released by the UFC. Rivera has admitted to use of the banned substance clenbuterol, which he tested positive for in 2016. He was suspended by USADA in January 2018 and banned two extra years due to falsified claims.
Weight cut? What weight cut? Joanna Jedrzejczyk got off to a fast start and never slowed down, battering Michelle Waterson for five bloody rounds on the way to a lopsided unanimous decision. Joanna makes a strong case that she should get the strawweight title shot she's been targeting.
Waterson is hanging on, but she's getting beaten up to the point where her corner has to be thinking about how much more she should take. Sure, she could catch Jedrzejczyk in a submission ... but it's more likely she'll get 5 more minutes of beatdown.
