James Kimball, who has been the operations head of the UFC Performance Institute (in Las Vegas and Shanghai) since the conception of the idea, is leaving the UFC for WWE, sources told ESPN. Kimball is taking a senior business operations role in WWE and will be working out of the corporate office in Stamford, Connecticut. As MMA Junkie reported Wednesday, Dr. Duncan French, who had been the performance head of the UFC PI, will take over as operations head.
UFC veteran Mads Burnell has signed a contract with Bellator MMA, per his manager Ali Abdelaziz. Burnell (13-3) is the former Cage Warriors featherweight champion. The Denmark native has won four straight after departing the UFC in 2018 following a loss to Arnold Allen. Burnell is still just 26 years old.
All five fights for Tuesday's Season 4 debut of Dana White's Contender Series are good to go. Damonte Robinson missed weight on his second try (156.5 pounds) and will surrender 20% of his purse to opponent Kenny Cross.
