UFC officials announced the bout on Friday. The event will take place at US Airways Center.
Dos Santos (16-3) hasn't fought since October 2013 due to a hand injury. The two heavyweights were supposed to clash on May 31 in Brazil, but the bout was scrapped due to dos Santos' injury.
The former heavyweight champion was dominated in his bid to recapture the title against Cain Velasquez at UFC 166 last year. Velasquez won the bout via TKO. Prior to the loss, dos Santos scored a third-round knockout over Mark Hunt in May 2013.
Miocic (12-1) ended up fighting Fabio Maldonado at the UFC Fight Night event on May 31. He won via TKO just 35 seconds into the bout. Fighting out of Euclid, Ohio, Miocic is 6-1 in the UFC and riding a three-fight win streak.
ESPN.com ranks dos Santos and Miocic the Nos. 3 and 4 heavyweights, respectively, in the world.
