Frankie Edgar, Cub Swanson to fight

A high-profile featherweight bout between Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson will headline a UFC Fight Night event on Nov. 22 in Austin, Texas.

UFC officials announced the non-title five-round main event on Wednesday. The UFC Fight Night card will take place at Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas.

A former lightweight champion, Edgar (17-4-1) will seek his third consecutive win in the 145-pound contest. The 32-year-old New Jersey native suffered a unanimous decision loss to current champion Jose Aldo at UFC 156 in February 2013, but has bounced back with wins against Charles Oliveira and B.J. Penn. He finished Penn in the third round of a bout at The Ultimate Fighter Finale on July 6.

Swanson (21-5) is currently on a six-fight win streak in the UFC and has not suffered a loss since November 2011. Fighting out of Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Swanson has knocked out four of his last six opponents.

ESPN.com ranks Edgar and Swanson the Nos. 3 and 4 featherweight fights in the world. Aldo (24-1) is scheduled to defend the title against Chad Mendes (16-1) at UFC 179 on Oct. 25 in Rio de Janeiro.

Also, the UFC announced a lightweight co-main event on Nov. 22 between Bobby Green (23-5) and Edson Barboza (14-2). Both lightweights are coming off wins in July.
