Welterweight veteran Mike Swick will end a more than two-year hiatus from the Octagon, as he's agreed to fight Alex Garcia at UFC 189 on July 11.
UFC officials confirmed the bout to ESPN.com on Tuesday. UFC 189 will take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
A member of the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2005, Swick (15-5) hasn't fought since a second-round knockout loss to Matt Brown in December 2012.
The 35-year-old fighter never announced retirement during the break, electing to heal up and put his focus on opening an American Kickboxing Academy affiliate in Thailand. He has three fights remaining on a four-fight UFC contract he signed in 2012.
Garcia (12-2) has not fought since August, when he suffered a torn ACL early in a fight against Neil Magny. Fighting out of Tristar Gym in Montreal, Garcia managed to finish the bout but took a unanimous decision loss. He holds a 2-1 record in the UFC.
A featherweight title bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor is scheduled to headline UFC 189, which airs on pay-per-view.
