Despite Cris 'Cyborg' Justino's claim, title bout vs. Germaine de Randamie not yet set

A UFC featherweight championship fight between Germaine de Randamie and Cris 'Cyborg' Justino remains unofficial, despite a recent post on social media from Justino suggesting otherwise.

On Tuesday, Justino (17-1) announced on Instagram she would be challenging de Randamie (7-3) for the 145-pound title at UFC 214 on July 29 in Anaheim.

"July 29th I will be making my first UFC fight in the USA!" Justino wrote. "I am excited the event will be in my American backyard of Orange County, California and I am looking forward to putting on an exciting fight against [de Randamie]!"

De Randamie's manager, Brian Butler, told ESPN.com on Tuesday, however, there is "no truth" to the fight being official for July 29.

Fighting out of Netherlands, de Randamie won the inaugural UFC featherweight title in February by defeating Holly Holm via unanimous decision in Brooklyn. Expectations were the winner of that fight would face Justino next, but de Randamie dropped a bombshell that night when she revealed she'd been suffering through a hand injury.

Days later, de Randamie said she was more interested in an immediate rematch against Holm than a proposed bout against Justino. Butler said he was not in position to comment on de Randamie's overall status at this time.

Widely considered the best female fighter in the world, Justino is obviously itching to fight De Randamie now. She has not fought since September. Justino was facing a potential suspension from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) earlier this year, but was ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing in February.

Representatives for Justino did not immediately respond to requests for comment from ESPN.com.

The UFC has not announced any fights for UFC 214, which takes place at Honda Center. UFC president Dana White told ESPN.com he would like to book a light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier (19-1) and Jon Jones (22-1) on that date.

According to sources, the UFC is interested in adding Justino to that card, but the situation remains in limbo for now.
