UFC signs European light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka

Jiri Prochazka, one of the top martial artists fighting out Czech Republic, is headed to the UFC.

A light heavyweight champion in the Japanese promotion Rizin FF, Prochazka (26-3-1) has signed an exclusive deal to compete in the UFC, according to promotional officials and Prochazka's manager and trainer Martin Karaivanov. The UFC has not yet announced Prochazka's promotional debut.

The 27-year-old will carry a 10-fight win streak into his new promotion. Prochazka is coming off a first-round knockout of UFC veteran C.B. Dollaway on Dec. 31. That result prompted a callout from Dollaway's teammate and Bellator MMA champion Ryan Bader, but Prochazka ultimately elected to sign with the UFC.

Twenty-three of Prochazka's 26 professional wins have come via knockout. His other notable opponents include Fabio Maldonado, Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal and Brandon Halsey.
