Stunning rally helps LSU walk off with title

Louisiana State
Ryan Theriot and the Tigers celebrate LSU's fifth CWS title.
Going into Saturday's College World Series championship game, Louisiana State had won 12 games in a row. The Tigers were not going to let a little thing like a three-run deficit in the eighth inning spoil their fun. LSU scored three in the eighth and once more in the bottom of the ninth on Brad Cresse's game-winning RBI to notch a stunning 6-5 victory over Stanford. The Tigers, the 17th team to run the table in the College World Series without losing a game, overcame a grand slam by Stanford's Craig Thompson.
