Rising Stars grades: Team Webber

All-Star Grades: TEAM HILL | TEAM WEBBER | 3-POINT | SKILLS | DUNK | SHOOTING

A+

Tim Hardaway Jr.

New York Knicks
SG

PTS: 36
REB: 1
AST: 2
STL: 0
BLK: 0
FGA-M: 12-23

ANALYSIS

Had it not been for Andre Drummond's quick start and beastly play, the hot-shooting Knicks reserve would have walked away with the game's MVP honor. He pumped in a game-high 36 points after that duel with Dion Waiters. It might hold up as the weekend's most intriguing performance.

A

Anthony Davis

New Orleans Pelicans
PF

PTS: 16
REB: 8
AST: 4
STL: 3
BLK: 2
FGA-M: 8-14

ANALYSIS

If anyone could have used the game to just go through the motions, it was Davis. But that's not in his nature. Instead, the Pelicans forward put on a show on his home floor, dropping in 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks in his tune-up for Sunday's All-Star Game.

A

Michael Carter-Williams

Philadelphia 76ers
PG

PTS: 17
REB: 6
AST: 9
STL: 1
BLK: 1
FGA-M: 7-12

ANALYSIS

The frontrunner for NBA rookie of the year could have done more if he wanted. But his subtle play still led to a remarkably efficient effort. He attacked the basket early and made plays for his teammates late to finish with a game-high nine assists to go with 17 points and six boards.

A

Mason Plumlee

Brooklyn Nets
PF

PTS: 20
REB: 7
AST: 1
STL: 4
BLK: 1
FGA-M: 10-13

ANALYSIS

Considering it wasn't much more than a glorified pick-up game, the value of Plumlee's production is somewhat diminished. But if he can give the Nets just an inkling of the all-around play he showed Friday, they might finally get on track in the second half of the season.

B

Victor Oladipo

Orlando Magic
SG

PTS: 13
REB: 1
AST: 4
STL: 0
BLK: 0
FGA-M: 6-10

ANALYSIS

A few flashy, athletic plays in the first half were the extent of Oladipo's night. It was hard to get much of a groove going when shots were so difficult to come by down the stretch. No worries. Oladipo will get plenty of those opportunities in the second half of the season in Orlando.

B

Steven Adams

Oklahoma City Thunder
C

PTS: 6
REB: 2
AST: 0
STL: 2
BLK: 4
FGA-M: 3-3

ANALYSIS

There wasn't much defense played, but the Oklahoma City backup center provided what little resistance there was at the rim with a game-high four blocks. He was also perfect from the field on his three shot attempts. Now, it's back to duty with one of the NBA's most dominant defenses.

B

Kelly Olynyk

Boston Celtics
C

PTS: 9
REB: 1
AST: 2
STL: 3
BLK: 1
FGA-M: 4-5

ANALYSIS

Not many 7-footers are as agile and effective on the perimeter as Boston's rookie. Olynyk made a few solid defensive plays in the first half and showed quick hands and feet by stepping into the passing lanes. He ended up with three steals and made four of his five shots. Not a bad night.

B-

Jared Sullinger

Boston Celtics
C

PTS: 13
REB: 2
AST: 4
STL: 0
BLK: 2
FGA-M: 5-11

ANALYSIS

Why not use the Rising Stars Challenge to show off seldom-used aspects of your game? Sullinger did just that Friday, displaying a 3-point shooting touch early that set the pace. But on a night when someone - anyone - needed to step up and keep Drummond off the boards, Sullinger faded.

C-

Trey Burke

Utah Jazz
PG

PTS: 6
REB: 0
AST: 6
STL: 1
BLK: 0
FGA-M: 3-12

ANALYSIS

This was more like the Burke from the Orlando Summer League several months ago and not the much-improved player we've seen in Utah over the past few weeks. The speed and pick-up style of play just doesn't fit well with Burke's strengths. His shot was off, but the playmaking was solid.
