AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas sophomore point guard Daniel Gibson said Tuesday that he plans to declare for the NBA draft but will not hire an agent, meaning he could keep his college eligibility.
"Playing in the NBA has always been a dream for me since I was a little kid," Gibson said in a statement released by the
university. "If I'm comfortable with where I feel I'll be drafted,
I'll stay in the draft. If not, I'll be back."
Texas coach Rick Barnes said he has no problem with Gibson
exploring his status for the June 28 draft.
Gibson ranked third on the team in scoring (13.4) and set a
school record for most three-point field goals made in a season
(101). Texas won a school-record 30 games last season and reached
