Arizona leading scorer Bayless to enter NBA draft

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona freshman guard Jerryd Bayless has decided to enter the NBA draft.

Athletic department spokesman Tom Duddleston confirmed Bayless' decision Saturday.

Bayless has been projected as a lottery pick. He averaged a team-high 19.7 points.

Bayless, a Phoenix resident from St. Mary's High School, averaged 33.2 points his senior season in leading his team to second place in the Arizona state tournament.

A McDonald's All-American, he averaged 37.9 as a junior.
