OXFORD, Miss. -- Mississippi guard Eniel Polynice has declared himself eligible for the NBA draft and will not return for his final season with the Rebels.

Polynice said in a statement that he will become the first member of his family to graduate from college in a few weeks and is ready to pursue his dream of playing professional basketball.

He averaged 8.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and a team-high 3.9 assists last season, helping the Rebels win the SEC West and reach the semifinals of the NIT.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound guard from Sarasota, Fla., finished his college career with 791 points, 397 rebounds and 319 assists.
