Denzel Valentine signs with agent, ex-NBA player B.J. Armstrong

Former Michigan State star guard Denzel Valentine told The Undefeated he has signed with NBA agent B.J. Armstrong of Wasserman Media Group.

After speaking to several agents, Valentine chose Armstrong, a former NBA player who also represents Golden State Warriors All-Star and former Michigan State star Draymond Green.

Valentine will continue to work out in Lansing, Michigan, for the NBA draft before departing to Los Angeles for further training after graduating on May 6. Valentine believes that having played four years in college, like Green, will help him in the NBA.

"I just feel like I'm ready on and off the court," Valentine told The Undefeated. "I'm mature. I haven't played one possession of the NBA, but I know how to play with pace. I know how to compete at a high level for multiple games.

"I have played against the best players. There are NBA players that I played against in college. And in college, I knew how to handle myself. I feel overall my four college years have made me more NBA ready."

Valentine, 22, averaged 19.2 points, 7.8 assists and 7.5 rebounds last season as Michigan State finished 29-6.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has won college national player of the year awards from The Associated Press, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, NBCSports.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
