NEW YORK -- Shaquille O'Neal was fined $7,500 by the NBA on Monday for verbally abusing an official and failing to leave the court fast enough after being ejected from a game Nov. 30.

The Los Angeles Lakers' center was thrown out with 2:12 left in the first quarter of his team's 107-92 victory over the Seattle SuperSonics at KeyArena.

O'Neal got two quick technicals for shouting at officials because they didn't call a foul and charging onto the floor during a timeout to yell at referee Bob Delaney. He had to be restrained by teammates.
