SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The injury-plagued Sacramento Kings signed guard Jim Jackson on Sunday and put forward Hedo Turkoglu on the injured list with a sprained wrist.
Jackson joined his ninth NBA team in 11 seasons. He had been out of the league since spending last season with Miami, where he averaged 10.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
The Kings, who hosted Houston on Sunday night, had just eight healthy players on Friday, when they beat the Los Angeles Clippers for their seventh win in eight games.
All-Star Peja Stojakovic has missed four games with inflamed tissue in his heel, while point guard Mike Bibby is still two weeks away from returning. Reserves Scot Pollard and Mateen Cleaves also are hurt, leaving the Kings without enough healthy players to scrimmage in practice.
Turkoglu sprained his right wrist last Wednesday against Minnesota. He averaged 9.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. |
