Charges dropped against former Wiz Awvee Storey

MIAMI -- Awvee Storey, who played for the Washington Wizards
last season, will not face charges of refusing to obey a police
order during an incident in Miami Beach during Memorial Day

The 29-year-old forward, who is a free agent, had been blocking
traffic in the middle of a busy street when an officer told him to
get back to the sidewalk, but he did not obey the officer and was
arrested, police report said.

Storey's case was dismissed after he made a $250 contribution to
a charity, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office
said Monday.

Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas was also arrested during the
incident. He had been charged with resisting arrest without
violence. Prosecutors dropped the charges earlier this month after
Arenas made a $250 donation to the police's assistance trust fund.
