Turkish power Efes Pilsen no match for Warriors

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Dajuan Wagner led seven players scoring
in double figures Thursday as the Golden State Warriors rolled to
an easy 120-66 preseason victory over Efes Pilsen of Turkey.

Wagner posted 18 points, while center Troy Murphy added 12
points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors in their preseason opener.

Kerem Gonlum scored 21 points and Marcus Haislip, who attended
college at Tennessee, added 13 points and nine rebounds for Efes

Newly hired Warriors coach Don Nelson had his team showing a
flashy offense of acrobatic dunks and layups with speed and

Golden State, which has missed the playoffs since 1994, led by
eight after the first quarter, then went on a 19-3 run and
outscored Efes Pilsen 29-9 in the second quarter.

Efes Pilsen, the first Turkish team to be invited to play with
NBA teams, was held scoreless in the third quarter for over 4½
minutes until Haislip sank two free throws.
